When I saw a tutorial for these DIY Satin Flower Headbands I knew I wanted to make them with Hanna. They are SO cute! [...] I read the Magic Tree House books to Hanna when she was in kindergarten and we loved them. They are so imaginative and I think they are perfect for kids this age for so many different reasons. Hanna went on to read all of them at least a couple more times on her own as [...] I have kept up the tradition of taking pictures of my kids since birth—the usual 3, 6, 9, and 12 month pics and then a new one each year along with the hundreds thousands of snapshots I take throughout the year. I used to be great about framing and hanging these yearly pictures on the [...] Hanna went to pottery camp again this summer. I realized this is the 6th year she’s done a pottery camp, and the fifth year this particular one. She had such a good time! Hanna is so creative, so patient when she makes things and it is evident to me each year how she is progressing [...] I have wanted to have Joe make a tin can robot ever since we began homeschool. I finally decided to get around to it this week. I had no idea if Joe would share my enthusiasm for this project. I think he did:-)! I raided Jamie’s tool chest getting out miscellaneous nuts, bolts, washers, screw anchors, [...] Remember the wind chime craft Hanna made for her new room that we finally got around to hanging? Well, she also made a really cute butterfly mobile. Here is what she used: one cereal box Jack has wanted to do nothing but color going on three weeks now. He asks me to print coloring pages of construction vehicles for him off and on all day. None of my kids so far have enjoyed coloring like Jack does. Let’s just say I have used my printer a whole lot lately:-). I [...] The last two weeks we’ve wrapped up our insect studies with more on mosquitoes and a little about crickets. Joe completed his lapbook, read some new and old books, made some cool crafts and pretended to be a mosquito. He made a mosquito mask from a paper plate. I attached a straw to it and [...] ….has been a good one. I guess in some ways I could have chosen to see it as a hard week, a hectic week too, but I have too much to be thankful for, so it has been a great week. We’ve been busy. Busy with school, pottery camp, swimming lessons, visiting with family, and just [...] The last two weeks we’ve continued to study insects. We were going to move on to crickets, but I wanted to have some live ones for part of our study. I haven’t made it to the bait store yet—hopefully this weekend I’ll get there so we can end our insect unit with crickets. We’ve been reading [...] |
